A rugged coastline with towering cliffs, pristine beaches, magnificent indigenous forests, quiet lakes and an abundance of indigenous floral species with rare protected plants growing beside streams and waterfalls.
DAY ONE Cape Town to Mossel Bay
Mossel Bay Lighthouse
Depart from Cape Town and travel via the spectacular coastal route of False Bay to Hermanus. Alternatively, depart Cape Town driving over Du Toit’s Kloof Pass to the town of Robertson. Continue via Montagu, a quaint country village and enjoy a wine tasting en-route. This is followed by a traditional South African lunch (for own account) in Barrydale. Continue via the historic town of Swellendam to Mossel Bay, which boasts South Africa's first Post Office, and was where the Portuguese Navigator Bartholomew Diaz first set foot on the Southern tip of South Africa. Take a short tour of the town, visiting the Post Office Tree and Museum Complex and see the life size replica of the caraval.
Travel over the Robinson Pass to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. Visit the Crocodile Ranch, Cheetahland, the Cango Caves (where a guided tour allows us to explore the ancient stalagmites and stalactite), and enjoy a traditional ostrich lunch at an Ostrich Farm. Then it's off to the quaint town of Prince Albert over the spectacular Swartberg Pass (weather permitting).

DAY THREE Prince Albert to Knysna
Swartberg Mountain Pass
Travel via Meiringspoort, an incredible passageway of towering red sandstone cliffs that pierce through the heart of the Swartberg Mountains, to Knysna. En route, visit George, the Capital of the Garden Route, and drive through the beautiful Wilderness Lake District. Once in Knysna, embark on the Featherbed Nature Reserve ferry, on arrival at Featherbad, we take a ‘Unimog’ (tractor-driven wagon) ride to the top of the Western Head. An optional hike can be taken through the indigenous Knysna forest to the restaurant area where lunch (not included) is served. Upon returning to Knysna, you may wish to enjoy an interactive elephant experience or take a Sunset Cruise on the stunning Knysna Lagoon. (Overnight KNYSNA)

DAY FOUR - Plettenberg Bay
Plettenberg Bay Central Beach
Embark on an ocean safari, commencing with an exciting beach launch from Plettenberg Bay in search of Bottlenose and rare Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphins, as well as certain shark species. Resident Bryde’s whales, Southern Right whales (seasonal - May to October) and Humpback whales, and even occasional Orcas are seen (seasonal). After an exhilarating beach landing on Central Beach (Plettenberg Bay), continue to Monkeyland where a monkey safari within an indigenous forest is conducted by an experienced game ranger. Afterwards visit Birds of Eden, a bird sanctuary located within a two hectare dome (the world’s largest aviary) spanning a gorge of indigenous forest. You can also visit the Tenikwa wildcat center where you can walk with rehabilitated cheetahs. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon

DAY FIVE - Knysna to Port Elizabeth
Storms River suspension bridge
Travel via Plettenberg Bay and indigenous forests to the Tsitsikamma National Coastal Park. This is the only coastal national park in South Africa. The daring might attempt the suspension bridge spanning the spectacular Storms River mouth. After lunch (not included) continue to the harbour city of Port Elizabeth in Nelson Mandela Bay for a short city tour before an afternoon drop off at your hotel or Port Elizabeth Airport.
